Dennis Rodman set for induction into WWE Hall of Fame

Dennis Rodman, a five-time NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons in 1989 and 1990 and the Chicago Bulls from 1996 to 1998,[1] is to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. ESPN reported the induction will occur during WrestleMania week next month in Las Vegas.

Rodman was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.[2]

Rodman's wrestling appearances date to the late 1990s in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). During the 1998 NBA Finals between the Bulls and Utah Jazz, Rodman skipped a team practice on June 14 to appear on WCW Monday Nitro. The Bulls fined him $100,000 for the absence.[3]

The Nitro segment promoted a tag-team match at WCW Bash at the Beach on July 12, 1998, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, where Rodman and Hulk Hogan faced Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone of the Jazz. The match ended in a no-contest following interference.[4]

Rodman and Hogan had previously appeared together at WCW Bash at the Beach in 1997. His most recent wrestling-related appearance came at All Elite Wrestling's Double or Nothing event on May 29, 2022, where he was part of Team AEW in a non-sanctioned match.[5] Rodman has never competed in a WWE ring.
