Receiver Trade Market Heats Up Ahead Of NFL Deadline

With more than a month remaining before the Nov. 10 trade deadline, NFL executives are already pointing to a cluster of established wide receivers who could change teams. According to league sources, Marvin Harrison Jr., Brian Thomas Jr., Chris Godwin, Quentin Johnston and Jerry Jeudy are among the names being watched most closely as the market takes shape.

The chatter comes on the heels of an unusually active stretch of early-season trades. The New York Giants acquired quarterback J.J. McCarthy, the Dallas Cowboys landed cornerback Joey Porter Jr., and the Baltimore Ravens traded multiple draft picks, including a 2028 second-rounder, to acquire Pro Bowl center Cam Jurgens from the Philadelphia Eagles. That flurry of movement has fueled speculation that this year's deadline could bring further significant deals, particularly at wide receiver. bandy betting

Executives who spoke to reporters suggested several of the receivers in question have struggled to fit within their current offenses despite clear physical talent, raising the possibility they could be moved for modest draft compensation. Thomas, a standout as a rookie in 2024, has reportedly fallen out of the picture under Jaguars coach Liam Coen. Jeudy, meanwhile, could become expendable in Cleveland, where the Browns have invested in younger receiving options. Harrison, by contrast, is widely viewed as unlikely to be dealt, with sources describing the Cardinals as committed to building around the 24-year-old despite a slow start to the season.

Beyond the receiver market, attention is also turning to which teams might become sellers once the halfway point of the season arrives. The Los Angeles Chargers, who opened the season 0-4, have been floated as a potential candidate given their difficult remaining schedule. Still, sources close to the team suggested a significant sell-off is unlikely, citing coach Jim Harbaugh's loyalty to players he helped bring in and the Chargers' historically cautious approach to in-season trades. The team has made only minor moves at past deadlines, and front-office sources indicated the current regime is more likely to continue that pattern than to dismantle the roster outright.
